How developmental differences may appear at different ages
Every child grows at their own pace. If you’ve noticed things that feel a little different, you’re not alone — and we’re here to help you understand what you’re seeing with compassion and clarity.
Your Baby (0–1 Year)
You may notice that your baby doesn’t always look toward you, respond when you call their name, or show the same gestures you see in other little ones their age. Their expressions may seem limited, or certain early social responses may come a bit later.
These early signs can simply mean your baby may benefit from extra support as they grow and connect with the world around them.
Your Toddler (1–2 Years)
Some toddlers lose words they once used, or their speech may develop more slowly than expected. They might explore toys in unique ways—such as lining them up rather than playing with them conventionally.
You may also see strong reactions to changes in routine. These differences can be meaningful, but with the right guidance, toddlers can make incredible progress.
Your Preschooler (3–4 Years)
You may hear your child repeat lines from favorite shows instead of having back-and-forth conversations, or notice they prefer playing alone. They might focus intensely on certain interests while showing little interest in other activities.
๏ปฟThese behaviors can signal that your child processes the world differently — and can benefit from personalized support.
Your School-Age Child (4–6 Years)
School-age children may find friendships more challenging, take language very literally, or struggle with pretend play. Unexpected changes in routine may feel overwhelming for them.
๏ปฟWith compassionate, individualized ABA support, children in this stage can gain important communication, social, and daily living skills that strengthen their independence and confidence.
Your Older Child (7–12 Years)
Some children may struggle with social interactions, emotional regulation, or keeping up with school expectations. You might notice difficulty following group rules, managing frustration, or building peer relationships.
๏ปฟWith individualized ABA support, older children can strengthen communication, social, and coping skills that help them succeed at school, at home, and in their community.
Your Teen (13–21 Years)
Teens may experience challenges with independence, social confidence, emotional regulation, or navigating increased responsibilities. Changes in routine and social expectations can feel overwhelming during this stage.
๏ปฟABA therapy for teens focuses on real-life skills such as emotional awareness, self-advocacy, daily living skills, and confidence building to support greater independence and long-term success.
